Big Den, Desatoya Mountains, WSA

Big Den is IMHO one of the more spectacular canyons in the Silver State. The Dens look pretty from the road , but one must hike the canyon to appreciate it's real beauty. Rock walls tower high above as you follow the narrowing canyon as it snakes up through wild rose bushes(ouch) to the waterfall. It is a tough hike in the winter, but the frozen waterfall at the canyons head makes it all worth while. Good Stuff!

Willow Creek, Desatoya Mountains WSA
We didn't have time to hike up Willow Creek , but the Canyon looks really cool with running water and Aspens line the creek. I know I'll be back in the spring.

Here are a few shots from last Saturday hike up Big Den Canyon.
