Tatanka... battling bison.

I took this image in the late afternoon near the Lamar Valley. The bison were on the move, but these two just wanted to butt heads. I sat there watching the bison herd move off over a small rise into the setting sun... an image that made me think of the days when all of North America was Wilderness and the bison had the freedom to roam. I enlarged this silhouette of the bison until it look a little rough, then I used sepia tones to give it an old fashion look, and then I finish it with a fresco brush from my artist palette. I like it.
I hope you have enjoyed my images of Yellowstone National Park. I will be posting a few more images from Yellowstone, but it is time to return to the purpose of this blog and that is the Nevada Backcountry. If you want to see more images of Yellowstone just click on the slide show in the sidebar of this Blog. I have a few images in the slide show that weren't posted on the blog.
