FOX RANGE WSA

I did not see any Foxes when I hiked in the Fox Range perhaps the name should be the View Range. Because the views were magnificent in every direction, to the east the rugged Selenites, with a fine view of Selenite Peak. The rolling terrain of Cottonwood Basin spreads out to the south with a spring and old ruins that stand quietly amongst the scattered junipers. The expanse and solitude of the Smoke Creek Desert highlights the western view with Dry Rim in the distance. To the north, the steep Granite Range and the famous Black Rock Desert country with mighty King Lear Peak standing guard over the Playa.

Note: The Fox Range is an 75,000+ acres WSA (Wilderness Study Area) about two hours north of Reno.
