Road Trip…
Here's one for the “OK it's not Nevada, but it sure is pretty” files. I ran across a blog titled Yocum that features some High Sierra images that made me long for some big granite walls. that's when it dawn on me, I needed to go somewhere Alpine. I made an early morning Starbucks stop and headed south to Bridgeport California and Sawtooth Ridge early Saturday. I stopped along the way at Walker Canyon and a curious little creek that looked like it was Hot, but it was not. It turns out it was just frigging colder outside than the temperature of the moving creek. When I got to the trailhead the Mono Village Campground was deserted except for a few diehard anglers; I saw no one or nothing on the trail except for a one way set of man & dog tracks headed toward Horse Pass, a few bear & deer signs in the snow, and of course lots of birds. It was good for my soul to return to the Alpine Zone to put the current economic crisis and other hassles aside for a while and just take in the majesty the Range of Light. I'm thinking maybe I should read a little more John Muir and perhaps watch a little less CNN. I played around with my camera & my ND filters a bit with a shaded waterfall and a few reflections; I had a lot of fun. I'm going back to the Sawtooths or would that be Sawteeth? ...next weekend?

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”
