Last Light, Poodle Mountain WSA

Once in a while it happens to every hiker, you push it a bit too far. and you have to hike back out in the dark. We were racing the sun to get back to the vehicle before dark because the place is bony(rocky), real ankle twisting stuff. Just before the final uphill the light went "Magic" on us, WOW! For about fifteen minutes everything that wasn't in shadow just glowed, popped and exploded with color. I decided at that point it was time to blast the rest of my CF card and worry about getting out later... we got headlamps.

"If you're lucky enough to have something magical in happening in front of your camera, don't let it go. Keep shooting until the light fades."

Yeah, you really captured the quality of light that I love about Nevada. The simplicity of the last photograph along with the texture of the moutain starts to approach the experience of silence, land and sky that really is Nevada.

Thanks... it is always great to see your work.
