I woke up early on Sunday to cloudy skies which soon opened up to let a downpour though. I was originally going to go to the Selenites to scout the route to Kumiva Peak , but decided to considerably shorten the drive time and go to Galena Creek instead. When Henry and I got to the parking lot it was a full fledged downpour I mean it was raining cats and well...dogs. I didn't bring a towel to dry the camera gear or Henry (dumb) , but I wanted to get a couple of shots for Nevada Outside, so outside the truck we went. We hiked about a mile when good sense prevailed and I turned around, by then we were both soaked nose to tail, but surprisingly the camera gear stayed nice & dry in the Lowe Pro fanny pack with the all weather cover...gear that works. Good Stuff. I wanted to set up the tripod to get some nice images of the creek but the camera would of been totally soaked by the time I got fully setup. So I did a "Texas camera quickdraw' and snapped about four shots of Galena Creek, here are two of them. I like the shot of the creek and the little pine (please forgive the raindropon the lens). I think I could of done something more with it given more time, but water and cameras don't mix.....trust me on that one.

Aren't you the die-hard going out in that weather? Did you have the place to yourself?

Just me and Henry, although there were a couple of cars parked at the Thomas Creek Trailhead.
